When a custom accessory makes sense

A custom accessory is useful when an existing clamp does not fit your panel dimensions, when you need a unique function, or when a retailer wants a private-label product family.

Step 1: provide panel dimensions

Send a cross-section drawing showing slat width, gap, depth and backing thickness. Photos help explain appearance, but dimensions are necessary for fit.

Step 2: define the use case

Explain what the product needs to hold, target working load, desired shelf or holder size and whether drilling is allowed.

Step 3: 3D design and prototype

The first model should focus on fit and function. Prototype dimensions can then be adjusted based on real installation feedback.

Step 4: choose material and finish

PETG and PLA are common for printed accessories. Color, surface texture and branding should be defined after geometry is stable.

Step 5: approve the sample

Test installation, removal, load stability, repeated use and appearance on the actual panel. Record any required dimensional changes before production.

Step 6: packaging and labeling

For wholesale orders, define model number, barcode, instructions, carton quantity and private-label requirements.

A strong OEM strategy can use one mounting platform with several front-end products so shelves, hooks and holders share the same fit logic.
