Why measurement matters
Acoustic wall panels from different manufacturers can use different slat widths, gaps and felt thicknesses. Even a one- or two-millimeter difference can affect how a clip, clamp or shelf bracket fits.
1. Measure the visible slat width
Use a caliper if available. Measure the front face of one wood slat at several points and record the average. If the slat has rounded edges, note whether the accessory contacts the flat face or the curved edge.
2. Measure the gap between slats
Measure the narrowest usable gap, not just the widest visible point. Felt can protrude slightly into the gap, and manufacturing tolerance may vary across the panel. A clamp that depends on the gap should be designed around the minimum practical clearance.
3. Measure slat depth
If an accessory wraps around the side of a slat, depth becomes important. Measure from the front face back toward the felt layer.
4. Check the backing
Many acoustic panels use PET felt behind the slats. Note whether the accessory may compress the felt or must avoid contact. A product designed to grip only wood behaves differently from one that uses the gap and backing as part of the retention system.
5. Define the intended load
Tell the supplier whether the accessory will hold keys, headphones, a small plant, a router or a shelf with multiple objects. Expected load affects wall contact, bracket thickness and shelf depth.

For wholesale and OEM orders
Send a simple cross-section drawing with dimensions rather than only photographs. For large orders, approving a physical sample on the actual panel is the safest final step.
