Accessories for 27 mm Acoustic Slats: What to Measure Before Ordering

Slat width alone does not confirm compatibility

A panel described as using 27 mm slats gives one useful dimension, but it does not fully define the mounting interface. Different manufacturers can pair a similar slat width with different gaps, depths, edge profiles and felt construction.

Confirm the actual width

Measure several slats with a caliper. A nominal 27 mm product may vary slightly, and coatings or veneer edges can influence the surface a clamp touches.

Gap and depth still matter

If a clamp wraps around the slat or places part of its body in the adjacent gap, record both the gap and slat depth. These dimensions often determine whether the accessory can be installed without rubbing the felt.

Check the edge profile

Square edges provide a different contact condition from heavily rounded or chamfered edges. If the clamp presses on the side near the front face, edge shape can change the effective contact area.

Avoid assuming every 27 mm panel is the same

For retail listings, it is safer to publish a measured fit range and a simple compatibility diagram. Buyers can then compare their panel instead of relying on a brand name or one nominal number.

Send a cross-section with slat width, gap, depth and felt thickness. If you have only a physical panel sample, a supplier can often work from measured dimensions and confirm the final geometry with a prototype before production.
