Indoor does not always mean cool
A wall beside a large sunny window or above a radiator can become much warmer than the center of the room. Small electronics on a shelf can also warm the bracket area over time.
Constant stress makes temperature more important
A clamp may remain under tension for months. If the material softens as temperature rises, the clamp can gradually lose pressure even though it looked secure during initial installation.
Position matters
The same accessory may behave differently on a shaded office wall and on a dark slat wall receiving direct afternoon sun. Product guidance should mention unusual heat exposure where relevant.
Material selection is only one control
A more temperature-tolerant polymer can help, but wider contact faces, lower permanent strain and a geometry that does not depend on extreme spring force can also improve robustness.
Electronics need extra thought
Router or device shelves should provide ventilation and should not place a polymer bracket directly against a hot exhaust area.
B2B testing
If a project has known elevated temperatures, tell the supplier early. Testing the final clamp under representative heat and load is more useful than relying only on generic material data.
